Safety & Fire Fighting System in SPL
According to the national and international safety legislation & recommendation, Fire Fighting System in SPL is combination of trained manpower, dedicated facilities & intelligent water network system designed for preventing any fire hazards considering that a second fire hazard could occur after extinguishing the first one. We are well equipped with fire siren system, modern fire vehicle to ensure total control and containment with the ultimate extinction of fire.
Fire & Safety Training Department
SPL has a substantial quantity of skilled workforces under SPL Fire & Safety Department. It is dedicated 24/7 to act promptly at the time of a fire and safety emergency. A comprehensive training scheme has been developed to confront any emergency is organized and executed through SPL Fire & Safety Department. This “Fire & Safety Training Scheme” is an integral a part of “SPL's Safety Rules”. All employees must go through this compulsory fire & safety training course as refresher's course within a month employment in SPL. Also, a “Secondary Fire Fighting Team” of trained officers and employees has been created & maintained through regular induction and retirement process by SPL Fire & Safety Department. “Fire Fighting Training”, “Fire Drills” are arranged at a regular interval to keep “Secondary fire Fighting Team” & general employees updated & fit. The employees of this department are working consistently to enhance & modernize our firefighting capacities & resources, ensuring highest efficiency of existing fire-fighting equipment and facilities by regular monitoring and supervision.
Personal Fire Safety
Following are the few rules which have been formulated to ensure personal safety:
- All personnel involved in different stages of plant operation, maintenance and inspection must use the personal protective gears.
- No personal has permission to engage in any work at OSBL without wearing at least SAFETY HELMET and SAFETY SHOE.
- Without WRITTEN CLEARANCE from Safety department, No person shall be engaged by any department in any work (cold work / hot work).
- To carry and use of any equipment, machinery, and vehicles are totally prohibited without approval.
