Naphtha Processing Facility
The Mixed Naphtha from Naphtha Production facility and Raw Naphtha from Eastern Refinery Limited is processed in this facility. The main processing units in this Facility are:
The Naphtha Hydro-desulfurizer (HDS) Unit with Stripper operates for the pretreatment of the feed to the Reformer Unit. Mixed Naphtha is processed to obtain Sweet Naphtha by removing Sulfur, Nitrogen, Oxygen, various metallic compounds and so on.
Subsequently the Sweet Naphtha is charged in the splitter to split light Hydro Carbon Solvent (C5 & C6) which is the feed for Hexane Production Unit and Heavy Naphtha is fed to the Catalytic Reforming Unit.
Reforming is a catalytic process that converts heavy naphtha into reformate effluent. The effluent is then charged to stabilizer to remove LPG (C3 & C4) and the remaining Reformate is stored as gasoline blend or charged to Xylene Recovery Unit.
This unit can be operated in two different modes to produce Xylene or Toluene from Reformate.
